Who Are the Rohingya?

The Rohingya are a stateless ethnic group predominantly from Myanmar. For decades, they have faced systemic persecution, violence, and genocide, forcing many to flee their homes in search of safety. The 2017 genocide led to the displacement of over 700,000 Rohingya refugees, with many seeking refuge in Bangladesh and other countries.

In response to this crisis, the Canadian Rohingya Society Quebec was established to assist Rohingya refugees arriving in Canada. Our organization seeks to provide a lifeline for these stateless individuals, offering resources to help them rebuild their lives while raising awareness about the ongoing challenges faced by the Rohingya community worldwide.
